Goal:

Document snapshot deletion and cleanup.

Summary:

• Snapshot Deletion:    (this is now available in stage)
  • Users with write permissions are now able to manually delete and bulk delete snapshots.
  • Snapshots can only be deleted for custom repositories.
  • All but the last snapshot in the repository can be removed (not the latest, but the last).
  • If some of the deleted snapshots are used in any content templates the user is warned while deleting and if they are deleted the templates are updated to use the closest snapshot to the chosen date.
• Snapshot Cleanup:    (this is currently being worked on, but is mostly done)
  • Snapshot are going to be automatically cleaned up/deleted after 365 days in prod (in both Red Hat and Custom Repositories).
  • Users are going to see warning about the snapshot deletion in the templates table, template detail and template repositories tab.
  • After the expired snapshots are going to be deleted the template will be automatically updated to use the next snapshot created. (If the snapshot is the last one in the repo, the deletion and warning aren't going to be done/displayed)
