Background and Strategic Fit

Azure has 2 generations of VMs, and image builder currently creates the image for a v1 VM. Image builder uploads both the image and the raw blob however, so users can register the raw blob as a v2 image.

Goals

Make it easier to get Azure v2 images.

• Make v2 the default?
• Offer users the option between v1 and v2?
