Background:

Red Hat is collaborating with Oracle to integrate Assisted Installer OCI. This will allow Oracle to deploy OpenShift Container Platform on Oracle Cloud Infrastructrure (OCI) using the Assisted Installer. New fields have been added to the UI for this purpose. The procedure is the same for single- and multi-node clusters.

Documentation Updates (Day 1): 

• Add a new chapter to the OpenShift Container Platform guide: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.13/welcome/index.html It should be called Installing on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and should be added to the Installing section, after 'Installing on VMC'.  

• The chapter should be similar to the Installing on vSphere and Installing on Nutanix sections. It should include two subsections, one with the steps required in Assisted Installer UI for installing OCP on an external platform, and the other for the procedure in OCI. That second subsection will contain a link to the second half of the procedure in the Oracle documentation. 

• Get an updated demo of the entire procedure. Use the links in the Resources and Links section below as a base. 
• The first step of the procedure in Assisted Installer is to select 'Oracle' in the Integrate with platform dropdown list on the Cluster Details page (see attachment). 

• The second step of the procedure is to add the custom manifest provided by Oracle (mandatory). Custom manifests are being documented as part of TELCODOCS-1390. 

• Include the following prerequisites:
  • This feature is supported for OCP 4.14 installations and later.
  • This feature is not currently available for the following architectures: PPC & S390 (a.k.a. P&Z systems).

• Include the following warning: Once a cluster of this type has been created it is not reversible. The only option is to create a new cluster." 

• Point to this chapter from other parts of the document, as relevant. For example, it needs to be mentioned in the Welcome section under Cluster Installer Activities: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.13/welcome/index.html 

• Include the items specified in TELCODOCS-1384, for example, regarding the Static IP,  Cluster-Managed Networking, Minimal-Image File, etc.
