At this point Inventory, Metrics and Alerts behave different when fetching root content.

• GET /inventory—returns a list of all available API methods.
• GET /metrics—returns a HTML page.
• GET /alerts—returns a list of all available alerts.

I think the Inventory way can be adapted by Metrics at least.
