GitOps backend always uses default ref

The GitOps backend relies on the "?ref=" query parameter in the GitOps URL to make API calls. Currently, this parameter is not read from the URL which is causing the backend to always consider the default ref.

Acceptance Criteria:

GitOps backend should extract the ref query parameter from the GitOps URL and only use default ref when there's no input ref provided.
