The lifecycle of a workflow will be controlled by https://knative.dev/docs/serving/

knative service manages revisions of the workflow, allowing an older revision to co-exist next to new ones.

The purpose of this spike is to describe what is needed to manage the application in the sense that while a revision is being used (e.g. by a long-running workflow), it will be possible to complete the execution using the same revision the workflow started with.
