As a Cost Management on-premise customer running OpenShift on public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), I want to view consolidated costs that include both my OpenShift workload costs and the underlying cloud infrastructure costs, so that I can have complete visibility into my total cost of ownership and make informed optimization decisions.
Business Value:
- Complete Cost Visibility: Customers get a unified view of OpenShift workloads and underlying cloud infrastructure costs
- Accurate Chargeback/Showback: Teams can be charged for the actual total cost of their workloads including cloud resources
- Better Optimization Decisions: Understanding both container and infrastructure costs enables more effective cost optimization
- Parity with SaaS: On-premise customers get the same feature set as SaaS customers
Success Criteria:
- Cloud provider billing data is successfully ingested and processed
- OpenShift workloads are accurately correlated with cloud infrastructure costs
- Users can view consolidated cost reports including both OpenShift and cloud costs
- Cost allocation and chargeback calculations include cloud infrastructure costs
- Feature parity with SaaS cloud provider integration
Epic Acceptance Criteria:
- [ ] Support for AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud provider cost integration
- [ ] Secure credential management for cloud provider APIs
- [ ] Automated data collection and processing pipelines
- [ ] Cost correlation between OpenShift workloads and cloud resources
- [ ] UI components for viewing and managing cloud provider integrations
- [ ] Helm chart configuration for cloud provider setup
- [ ] Documentation and operational procedures
- [ ] E2E tests covering cloud provider scenarios
