Validate and enable the Resource Optimization (RO) plugin for Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH), along with its planned Cost Optimization (CO) extension, to successfully connect and function using the services provided by the new On-Premise Cost Management deployment.

This epic focuses on integrating the RHDH RO plugin (and its upcoming CO feature extensions) with the newly deployed On-Prem Cost Management backend. The successful completion of the prior deployment epics (Phase 2, Spike) is assumed.

The primary objective is to verify that the RHDH frontend components can:

      1. Successfully authenticate and connect to the on-prem Cost Management endpoints.
      1. Correctly fetch and render Resource Optimization data (e.g., recommendations, usage details).
      1. Support the data requirements necessary for future Cost Optimization functionality (e.g., cost metrics).

This ensures a seamless user experience for customers utilizing the RHDH frontend with an air-gapped or restricted on-prem deployment.

      Acceptance Criteria

The epic is complete when the following criteria are met and documented:

      I. Resource Optimization (RO) Plugin Validation

      • Successful Connection: The RHDH RO plugin is successfully configured to connect to the new On-Prem Cost Management backend endpoints (using the standardized SaaS Ingress).
      • Data Fetch & Display: The plugin successfully retrieves and correctly displays core Resource Optimization data (e.g., cluster list, recommendation status, and details) using the data provided by the on-prem installation.
      • Authentication Check: Authentication/Authorization mechanisms between the RHDH frontend and the Cost Management on-prem backend are verified to be working correctly.

II. Cost Optimization (CO) Plugin Readiness

      • API Verification: All necessary API endpoints required to support the future Cost Optimization extensions are confirmed to be available and returning valid (even if mock) data from the On-Prem Cost Management service.
      • Data Structure Compatibility: The data structures (JSON schemas) returned by the on-prem backend for RO and CO data are verified to be compatible with the expectations of the RHDH plugin codebase.

      III. Documentation

      • Installation Guide Update: The official documentation is updated with any new configuration parameters or steps required for RHDH users to connect the plugin to the On-Prem Cost Management service.
