Description of the problem:

The UI has a filter by status feature
This won't work without adding the filter to the backend
Currently it gets all the instances, and then shows only the ones with a certain filter
But now with pagination, it can't do that anymore

Expected results:

the solution should be generic: provide a filterBy and filterValue
similar to orderBy or same terminology that graphql uses
