Sometimes when exposing Kafka to off-cluster access, it might make sense to combine the technologies. For example to use node ports for the connections to Kafka nodes for the good performance. But at the same time use routes as a bootstrap mechanism since that has nice and stable address and isn't necessarily so performance sensitive. It would be nice if the users were able to configure this through the CO.
