Grokket is an analytics product that looks at what is running on RHEL customer deployments, what versions of RHEL are the workloads running on.

There has been an ask from the BU to see what would be involved for getting Grokket to pick up instiance of 'Streams for Apache Kafka' running on RHEL deployments. A very quick analysis looks like we would need to provide Grokket with 'fingerprints' which are sets of pattern matching rules that when applied, indicate a system attribute.

The acceptance criteria for this task is:

      • check if its feasible for Grokket to pick up usage of 'Streams for Apache Kafka' on RHEL, and
      • what amount of work is needed from the Engineering side
