As Apache Kafka is going to deprecate support for Java 8 and 11 in brokers and management tools in 3.7 and remove it in 4.0, we should probably follow the same in AMQ Streams 2.7. It will support Java 17+ only.

We should also consider and decide if we should do the same for:

• Kafka Connect and MM2 (for some reason does not seem to be affected by Kafka)
• The HTTP Bridge
