Instead, focus on retaining clear and concise instructions for users to integrate Strimzi with their existing Prometheus deployments, which might include using the PodMonitor and PrometheusRule resources we provide.

The files and documentation should provide only the necessary support for users who want to set up Prometheus monitoring for their Kafka clusters using Strimzi.

Discuss the investigation with the Strimzi writer, who can create a separate Jira to make any documentation changes.

Acceptance criteria

• If deemed unnecessary, recommend the removal of the prometheus.yaml and prometheus-additional.yaml installation files. 
• Outdated or inaccurate documentation content related to Prometheus integration has been identified.
• The steps to configure Strimzi with a user's own Prometheus deployment are understood.
• If applicable, provide examples and best practices for configuring PodMonitor and PrometheusRule resources effectively.
