We need to document the removal of the SMTP, JMS and Socket appenders from Log4j 1.2.17 in this release. These were removed to deal with CVEs in this unsupported version of Log4j used by Kafka. Any customers which use these appenders in their Kafka deployments will have to look for alternatives.
