Qpid dispatch console keeps trying to open connections when using empty username and password against a listener configured with SASL plain

If you have an HTTP listener configured to use SASL Plain authentication,
then you go to the console login page and leave both username and password
fields empty, then click the "connect" button, the console shows an error,
but looking at the router logs, you will observe endless attempts to open
new connections coming from the console.
