1. Proposed title of this feature request
Higher Level C# .net API
2. Who is the customer behind the request?
Account name: check support ticket
TAM/SRM customer: No
Strategic Customer: No
3. What is the nature and description of the request?
Complete, support and maintain a higher level C# .net api, such as https://github.com/apache/activemq-nms-amqp
4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
We have a small usage of C# .NET clients, to avoid these teams needing to invest heavily in learning low level AMQP, a Higher level API would be more preferred.
Upstream there seems to have been some recent (2018) re-work to use the amqp-lite client underneath the NMS high level API, thats understood to be well battle tested with roots at Microsoft and apache 2.0 licensed.
https://github.com/apache/activemq-nms-amqp
We would like to ask if this could be completed (if anything more is needed), released and supported? It seems to be fitting the bill our devs would be wanting.
If not some direction and commitment to when such higher level api could exist for .NET C#
5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Ideally by implementation of this RFE - or provide some direction and commitment to when such higher level api would exist.
6. For each functional requirement listed in question 5, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
by customer
(1) Use the api and test it.
by Red Hat
(1) Unit tests
(2) Quickstarts that demonstrate it's usage?
(3) QE tests that verify usage
7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat bugzilla?
No
8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies?
None communicated so I assume they would like this ASAP - or at least a steer of what we can do ASAP
9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
No
10. List any affected packages or components.
AMQ
11. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if
implemented?
