      1. Install Fuse 6.3R5
      2. Create two new SSH containers, specifying some --jvm-opts '-Dfoo=bar'
      3. When they are running, add the two new SSH containers to the ensemble
      4. Change the JVM options on one of the running SSH containers. Verify that the running container-edit-jvm-options shows that the change has been registered
      5. Stop the container whose JVM options were modified (you will need to use --force)
      6. Restart the container
      7. Note the JVM options have changed
      8. Try to change the JVM options again
      9. Note that container-edit-jvm-options now has no effect – the command does not even reflect the new values entered.

Various bugs have been reported concerning container-edit-jvm-options. Most should have been fixed in the later 6.3 releases, but it seems that there is an outstanding problem with ensemble members. Although I cannot be 100% certain about the exact steps to reproduce the problem, it seems to arises after forcing an ensemble container down and then restarting it. After this point, container-edit-jvm-options no longer works – the change does not seem to be stored.
