Fuse 7.0 Sprint 20
Per Christine Flood:
There's been a ton of work put into JVM heuristics, and discounting some problems with figuring out how much memory is available, I'm not sure why operating inside a container is any different than operating on a small machine.
Do you have any reason to believe that your heuristics operate better than just giving the JVM -XX:+UseSerialGC and -XX:MaxRAM=whatever?
Or if running inside a JVM with -XX:+UseCGroupMemoryLimits, just letting the JVM figure it out?
and
The two patches (memory and processors) have been put back upstream and as of jdk8u131 are included in our Java distributions.
They are also being ported back to jdk7 (cgroup is done, available processors is going out "real soon now")
