We need to add functionality so that Mina2 or netty when it supports HL7 can create a connection as a client, at the same time act as a Consumer of HL7 transactions. If they use a from(URI) with Mina2 it acts as a Server, and will be the consumer . If they use a to(URI) they can act as a client and establish a TCP connection, but it assumes that he wants to be a producer.
Per Claus there is no way to decouple the two at present in Mina2 but has suggested an enhancement request for netty.
