The upgrade, backup and restore procedures currently do not support an architecture where an external database has been utilised. Attempts result in the error error: syndesis-db pod is not running. This architecture should be supported.

The procedures should be modified to connect to the postgresql container and execute regardless of the 'location' of the database.
