Background: TSN is a layer 2 Ethernet standard (802.1Q) to provide deterministic messaging on standard Ethernet. Forwarding decisions on TSN bridges use the header contents (not the IPaddr) to make forwarding decisions. The contents of the ethernet frames can be anything and are not limited to internet protocol which means they can be used in any environment and carry the payload of any industrial application.
TSN requires that everything in the layer two path be TSN capable in order to effectively be routed based on the time sensitive needs.
Description: The scope of this RFE is to capture what additional requirements are needed in RHEL to enable the TSN capabilities from a Red Hat perspective. This could included but not limited to:
-NIC drivers supporting TSN
-Virtual Bridges supporting TSN
