Our documentation 7.4 documentation 8.0 currently uses initd and an sh script to make EAP (installed using ZIP) run as a service in RHEL.
We have a KCS about it, but with a disclaimer saying that's just to be used as reference and it's not officially supported.
Sometimes we have customers trying to use systemctl instead of initd like case 03452395. There, our colleague from services SBR pointed a few things that should be done to properly use the script as systemctl that is different than the KCS.
I was wondering if it's possible for us to provide an official script/support for EAP in systemctl? Perhaps use what we currently have for RPM?
Justification : RHEL 7 and 8 customers were directed to migrate away from initd AND in RHEL 9 is has to be installed as an addon. So why do customers need to keep using initd?!?!
