m2e-wtp is a project lead by Red Hat at the Eclipse Foundation, aimed at bridging the gap between Maven and the Web/JavaEE Tooling in Eclipse.

One idea would be to combine, somehow, the M in maven and the W in Webtools, maybe throw the Webtools gear into the mix.
