getClusterName has nothing do with with CassandraTypeProvider. That method is there just because we had to "hide it" somewhere where we have access to DatabaseDescriptor as core module is Cassandra-agnostic. 

There should be a configuration property a user has to set in order to resolve cluster name. Cluster name should be resolved / fetched from CassandraConnectorContext instead.
