What Debezium connector do you use and what version?
Using debezium-postgres-connector version 2.6.1.Final
What is the connector configuration?
Note: some non-relevant information redacted

What is the captured database version and mode of deployment?
(E.g. on-premises, with a specific cloud provider, etc.)
Postgres 15.2 (RDS)
Deployed to MSK Connect
What behaviour do you expect?
Given the presence of the following domain type in Postgres:
CREATE TYPE test_type AS ENUM ('TEST_1', 'TEST_2'); CREATE DOMAIN test_type_not_null AS test_type NOT NULL;
Expecting successful connector startup.
What behaviour do you see?
Connector throws a NullPointerException on startup trying to prime the TypeRegistry because the domain type has no enum values (NPE comes from this block), despite being labeled as an enum in the information obtained from pg_catalog.
Do you see the same behaviour using the latest relesead Debezium version?
Verified behavior exists with 2.3.0.Final -> 2.6.1.Final
Do you have the connector logs, ideally from start till finish?
(You might be asked later to provide DEBUG/TRACE level log)
<Your answer>
How to reproduce the issue using our tutorial deployment?
- Start Postgres Docker compose
- Connect to the DB via psql and execute the above statements to create the domain type
- Attempt to start the connector and observe the NPE
