Which use case/requirement will be addressed by the proposed feature?

This warn log message could be logged for every event processed in a table (e.g., if it's the default value, or inserted each time with that value). That log level is too high for something that can happen for every message so change from WARN to DEBUG.

Additionally, the checks are overly restrictive for the year, a year of 0 is valid and won't raise exception.
