Also we'll have to explore whether the MySQL JDBC driver would work or whether we should use another MariaDB-specific driver. If so, how can this be packaged - should it be its own connector module or can we have both of them in the MySQL connector module side by side? Also impacts documentation and the connector itself as the driver name currently is hard-coded as per Jiri.
