There should be JMX metrics or other means of monitoring the state of the database history object:

• number of entries
• last entry persisted/recovered
• recovery progress
• etc.

Turns out that's done already.

We should have INFO log messages for recovery:

• Starting of the recovery
• End of the recovery time with duration and total number of recovered records
