Two approaches became a reality recently:

• Using Apache Camel via Kafka Connect
• Using Debezium as an Apache Camel connector ( https://debezium.io/blog/2020/02/19/debezium-camel-integration/)

We should have a blog post + demo exploring both, perhaps teaming up with one of the Camel folks. Would be good to cover the DB to DB use case, perhaps also DB to Elasticsearch. It might also be a two part piece, if it becomes too long.
