RHELBU-2847 is going to remove the packages that currently comprise the ResilientStorage variant. The variant should be removed.

To remove the variant, you will need to delete the relevant section from variants.xml, and remove references from the config file. At the very least, variant_as_lookaside needs to be updated, as mentioning a non-existing variant there would fail the compose. But all references should be removed.
