= Connect to remote workspaces by using a local VS Code (desktop) editor Dev Spaces now supports connecting a locally installed Visual Studio Code (desktop) editor to a remote workspace. This feature uses the `Remote - SSH` extension and is available as the `Visual Studio Code (desktop) (SSH)` editor in the Editor Selector. **Known issues** This new feature has the following known issues: * Workspaces that are started by using the `Visual Studio Code (desktop) (SSH)` editor do not respect workspace idling timeouts. * The workspace startup page for the `Visual Studio Code (desktop) (SSH)` editor provides minimal content.
