Description of problem:
There is a 'Extension 'ms-python.python' CANNOT use API proposal: terminalShellIntegration' error when trying to install the latest Python extension (v2024.14.0) on Dev Spaces.
Workaround: Install the previous version instead which is v2023.12.3
Prerequisites (if any, like setup, operators/versions):
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an empty workspace
- Install the ms-python extension with version v2024.14.0
- Open the command palette and run 'Python Debugger: Show Output'
- An error message appears
- Run the 'Show Running Extensions command' and verify that the Python extension is stuck at Activating...
Actual results:
An error appears:
The extension is stuck at Activating...:
Expected results:
The Python extension should activate successfully.
Reproducibility (Always/Intermittent/Only Once):
I can always reproduce this issue on the staging cluster and on the sandbox instance at workspaces.openshift.com.
I cannot reproduce this error on the dogfooding cluster; the extension activates.
