The .code-workspace file can be used to configure the workspace. 

A user has noted that a mal-formed file was permissible in Dev Spaces 3.10, but now fails without clear explanation in Dev Spaces 3.12.  (See associated support case.)

Please protect the user from misconfigurations in this file.  (Provide edits, understandable error messages, etc.)
