There is "chectl update" command which should work in productized version of crwctl - to update it using stable channel.

There are now two channels supported in upstream Che: stable and next.
And no channels in crwclt.

@nboldt usually takes installer tar ball artifact from last successful build https://developers.redhat.com/products/codeready-workspaces/download and put it somewhere on production, for example https://developers.redhat.com/download-manager/file/codeready-workspaces-1.2.2.GA-operator-installer.tar.gz.
Download manager https://developers.redhat.com/products/codeready-workspaces/download requires login and accepting of rules.
So, it might not be used to place files for update of crwctl using "cwrctl update" command.
