Description of problem:
Prerequisites (if any, like setup, operators/versions):
Log into dev sandbox, eg., at https://devspaces.apps.sandbox.x8i5.p1.openshiftapps.com/dashboard/#/create-workspace (running DS 3.3.0 as of that morning)
Steps to Reproduce
1. Tried to open a workspace from https://github.com/devspaces-samples/python-hello-world/ and nothing happened; I was redirected to the dashboard and no workspace entry was created.
Note: a few mins later (after writing up this JIRA), it worked:
2. but then I tried https://github.com/devspaces-samples/python-hello-world.git and suddenly the magic factory flow started... and things looked promising until the crashloopbackoff error:
3. so I tried to edit the devfile to point at quay.io instead of registry.redhat.io and I got another error:
4. I tried reloading a couple times and on the second attempt the devfile looked completely different, and would let me save my changes.
5. So... why does it take several reloads for the imported devfile at https://github.com/devspaces-samples/python-hello-world/blob/devspaces-3-rhel-8/devfile.yaml to turn into converted.devfile.yaml ??
Concerns:
1. can't load git project from https://github.com/org/project/ but https://github.com/org/project.git works. Bad UX, not intuitive.
2. devfile conversion lags behind error messages on the factory loading page, and it's unclear when the devfile will switch to its completed form so I can edit it.
