it would be nice to use the same notation so that we can easily move from upstream to downstream with the same devfile configuration.
I feel like the notation from upstream is more convenient but not a strong opinion. This can be changed in one or the other.
Be cautious when updating to update all devfiles using it. Also needs to mark it as a breaking changes in release notes.
