As part of the effort to maintain the operational costs of our AWS RDS instances, we have evaluated the usage of our database instances, their storage, cost efficiency, and performance. As a result of this analysis, we recommend the following changes:

*Current State:*

• *Current Instance Type:* `db.m7g.12xlarge`
• *Current Storage:* `8000 GiB`
• *Current Storage Type:* `gp3`

*Current usage:*

• CPU utilization: `8.00%`
• Used storage: `6,771 GiB`

*New recommended state:*
1. *Right-Sizing:*

• *Recommended New Instance Type:* `db.m8g.8xlarge`
  2. *Storage Optimization:*
• *Recommended New Storage:* `7800 GiB`
• *Recommended New Storage Type:* `gp3`

An easy way to update both the database instance and storage without an outage is to use a Blue/Green Deployment via app-interface.
