      Received this email from AWS:

      Hello,

We are writing to notify you that starting January 24, 2022, AWS is adding a new column, “bill/InvoicingEntity”, to the AWS Cost & Usage Report (CUR) after the “bill/InvoiceId” column. In addition, on the same date, the “lineItem/LegalEntity” column, which is currently not populated, will begin to include the name of the AWS Marketplace seller for all AWS Marketplace line items.

You will see the name of the entity issuing the AWS invoice in the new “bill/InvoicingEntity” column. Possible values include: “Amazon Web Services, Inc.,” “Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL” or “Amazon Internet Services Pvt. Ltd.”  The change will impact you if you built a data ingestion tool that consumes CUR columns based on a column index. To avoid a disruption in your data ingestion process caused by this CUR schema change, we recommend ingesting CUR data using column names.

The new “bill/InvoicingEntity” column will also be added to the AWS Cost Explorer API as a new dimension, “INVOICING_ENTITY”, with the same possible values. The "LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME" dimension in AWS Cost Explorer API will begin to contain the name of the AWS Marketplace seller for all AWS Marketplace line items.

Please refer to the CUR User Guide [1] and Cost Explorer API User Guide [2] to learn how you can utilize them to optimize your AWS cost and usage.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us through AWS Support [3].
