Customers wants to change the behaviour of developers through cost models, but it makes it complicated as there is no baseline, they just see a cost and they can't compare that cost with any optimal.
In order to facilitate this, we are working on some enhancements on cost models (i.e. maximum usage and request).
But that can make it more expensive to work inefficiently, but it does not work to show how inefficient it is. Currently, you can get something similar (not the same) using the data for usage vs request per project and calculating a percentage of costs based on it.
For instance: you have used 1 CPU-month and requested 30 CPU-month. Your cost is $300 and could have been $10.
This feature would allow customers to select comparisons and start seeing them in a different view:
- For detail pages: you will be able to see your costs using the price model, or an alternative price model (i.e. usage vs actual usage).
- You should be able to define KPI for desired utilization (i.e. usage is over 50% of request and see a table with those KPI applied to projects).
