The podman folks are building their disk images using https://github.com/dustymabe/build-podman-machine-os-disks which was never meant to be more than a temporary thing.
We worked to bring them https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-pipeline/blob/main/jobs/build-podman-os.Jenkinsfile but for reasons that aren't exactly clear to me they aren't able to use it.
Either way, them owning the infrastructure for building something they are responsible for is probably the right path forward.
The proposal here is to update the already existing https://github.com/coreos/custom-coreos-disk-images to support the podman os use case and have them use that instead since it will get more regular updates (we have shared it with some customers) than the repo they are currently using.
