Epic Goal
- Decrease time between PR being ready to merge and actual merging.
- Decrease time for presbumits
Why is this important?
- Increases developer AND management productivity. The installer is a very active github repo, operating at a high volume of PRs with contributions from multiple teams and organizations. This can lead to situations, particularly around branching day, where the combination of a high volume of PR merges and the extended time it takes for testing causes a PR to get stuck in "retest hell" because other PRs merge while the candidate PR is in testing, triggering another round of 3 hour testing. This leads to developers spending significant time "babysitting", ready features missing deadlines, and stress.
