As part of improving the security, traceability, and reliability of our build processes, we are enabling hermetic builds for the Cluster Observability Operator (COO). Hermetic builds ensure that the build process is self-contained, with no external dependencies fetched during runtime, thus protecting against potential supply chain threats. This EPIC will involve modifying the current build pipelines, adding the necessary configuration to enforce hermetic builds, and verifying that all dependencies are properly declared in advance to meet security best practices.
