If we want to automate releases and make it a bit easier for us to manage, we can utilize git commit trailers like Release-note or Release-change that the automation could pick-up using something like git-interpret-trailers.

As an example for a commit in a PR:

storage: Handle cowsay UI for small devices

cowsay is great. But not for small devices. Should be the last
commit needed before merging.
