Quarterly Plan 25Q1
Currently this is a deliberate missing feature which makes no logical sense when you are a privileged user that can view the containers via command line anyway. Besides, this is needed to manage machines that run rootless containers in separate dedicated user accounts.
- ✅ Automatically start podman.socket: https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-podman/pull/1976
- ✅ Rework code and tests for "user: root" and "user: username" instead of true/false, and (no visible behaviour change): https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-podman/pull/1989
- ✅ Rework internal API to allow stopping connections to podman.service and monitoring; we don't want to pile up connections to different services: https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-podman/pull/2020
- 🔨 Extend the user switcher to other users with containers: https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-podman/pull/2024
