Description of problem:
We have a customer with OpenShift 4.16.38 Virtualization where Red Hat Virtual Machine Web Consoles don't allow "the client" to use the arrows on their keyboard. They have to use an extended keyboard with arrows on the number pad. If the user uses the arrows on the number pad, this works. However, a lot of laptops don't have a number pad. This is seen with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Most people who would be using the OpenShift clusters don't necessarily have a number pad to use arrows for the Virtual Machine console. If you don't have the number pad, performing most tasks via the console is not achievable. As a result, the customers won't be able to perform tasks, such as creating a virtual machine with an ISO They have only seen this on RHEL 8.8 VM environments, but they don't have any other OS in the environment to use. They have tried using virtctl to see if the behavior is the same, but they are not setup for console that way. Have tried to see if setting the following in the VM would work as a work around:~~~ inputs: - bus: virtio name: tablet type: tablet ~~~ Note: I've tested against this version in a quick lab test and my laptop arrows work on both a thinkpad and the arrows from a mac keyboard worked.
