Goal
The primary goal is to map the performance & scale capabilities of storage provided by the Fusion Access Operator (GPFS) when integrated with CNV. We will execute the full perf+ regression suite (including performance, scale upgrade, chaos, and mass live migration tests) to establish a comprehensive baseline and compare it directly against the existing ODF solution.
User Stories
- As a cluster administrator, I want to offer storage via the Fusion Access Operator as a storage class for VMs that meets documented performance and scale limits, so that I can confidently support diverse and demanding tenant workloads, such as I/O-intensive databases or high-density VM deployments.
- As a developer, I want to deploy my virtualized applications onto storage managed by the Fusion Access Operator without encountering performance bottlenecks, so that my services (e.g., databases, Windows-based applications) achieve their required operational performance and deliver a responsive end-user experience.
Non-Requirements
- This Epic covers the execution of certification tests only. It does not include the development of new features or bug fixes within the Fusion Access Operator itself to address any findings. Should such an issue be detected during the tests, it will be linked to this epic and addressed by the Fusion Access Operator teams.
Notes
- Full Test Scope Required: Certification requires executing the entire perf+ suite. This includes the standard performance and scale tests, chaos testing, upgrade scale testing, and mass live migration testing.
