Once we have the declarative hotplug volume API in kubevirt we should plan to adopt it for use in the product and eventually deprecate the sub-resource based imperative API. This will help us to be more gitops friendly and reduce our testing surface. The expectation is that all tools (virtctl), integration points (UI, memory dump, etc) and kubevirt-csi would start to use the new API. After this change we expect to cover the same set of use cases with no regressions.
