Hello,
Currently, OpenShift Virtualization provides storage metrics such as throughput and IOPS for VMs. However, there is no visibility into latency, which is a critical metric for assessing the performance and health of storage systems, especially for latency-sensitive workloads.
This RFE proposes adding latency information (e.g., read latency, write latency, and average latency) to the storage metrics in OpenShift Virtualization. By providing latency metrics, users can gain deeper insights into storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize workloads accordingly.
Benefits:
- Enhanced performance monitoring for storage systems.
- Improved troubleshooting and analysis of latency-sensitive applications.
- Greater transparency into storage behavior for administrators and end-users.
This addition will significantly enhance the observability of storage operations and help users make informed decisions regarding workload placement and optimization.
