I wanted to suggest merging the CNV QE Staff (every Monday) and CNV CI Pipeline Watchers (every Tuesday) meetings. There's a lot of overlap between the two, and I think combining them into a single session would help us make these discussions more focused.
Here's what I'm thinking we can achieve by merging:
Consolidated Gating Overview
We can look at both T1 and T2 gating results in a single meeting. This way, we'll have a better overview of what's breaking and where our main issues are. We can then deep-dive into the most critical gating failures and make faster decisions on actions needed to keep our builds (ever)green.
Centralized Infra Issue Handling
We can have one place to raise, track, and resolve infra issues, ensuring that any blockers get addressed quicker and with the right people in the room.
Component Teams' Awareness
This meeting would include all the key stakeholders from each component (Compute, Storage, Network, etc.), ensuring that everyone is on the same page with what's in progress, what needs more attention, and what's actively blocking us. This will also help us break silos and have a broader context of how our work impacts the overall health of the CI.
Focused and Actionable Flaky Tests Ticket Review
Instead of going over all the tickets during the meeting, we can have them reviewed offline/async and bring the most relevant ones from the CNV CI Status Dashboard that need immediate attention. We can discuss owners, next steps, and expected resolutions in a structured way.
Quarantine and Flake Handling
Merging both meetings would allow us to take a unified approach to handling quarantined tests and discuss de-flaking strategies more effectively, making sure we're all aligned on the quality of tests being executed.
To make this work, we'd need at least one rep from each gating component in the meeting so that we have all the right voices when discussing issues and action plans. Also, a proper follow-up process would be crucial to ensure that the agreed-upon actions are implemented and tracked until resolution.
