      1. Proposed title of this feature request

We are requesting the ability to create a OCP Virtualization scopped default storageclass that is used in all created VM templates without an explicit storageclass set. Today customers must set an explicit storageclass definition in their VM templates to override the cluster default storageclass object.

      https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.13/html/virtualization/virtual-machine-templates

      2. What is the nature and description of the request?

This feature should reduce the administration effort. Especially for customers moving over from VMware and looking for feature parity.

      3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

      • The specific customer requesting this feature has a file type storageclass set at their cluster default. This file type storage does not support cloning. So they want to have a setting they can configure so that all VM templates pick up their block type storage that does support cloning.

      4. List any affected packages or components.
